AS BRUTAL AS is a first solo exhibition by genevieve chua in a formost attempt to push the boundaries of drawing as a finished product of art.

on show are representational drawings which continue with her signature investigation of drawing, language, cinematic,horror and desire.

through images of solitary bodies juxtaposed with objects of desire the works articulate an inner violence of feelings within bodies, caused by the brutal ways in which the body is being hoarded by the media today.

1ST LADY ON THE MOON

The exhibition of the aforementioned theme the 1st lady on the moon will feature works appropriating elements common in Chinese traditional folklore. These are tales well acquainted with the Chinese community of all ages despite the increasing irrelevancy amongst the youths of contemporary culture.
This exhibition showcases works incorporating familiar imagery and themes derived from traditional Chinese myths with a twist.
